Presenting 'Myths in local news'

Last week I attended the Journalism, Education and Research Association of Australia (JERAA) 2023 conference in Sydney.

Hosted by University Technology Sydney, the conference inlcuded loads of interesting presentations and it was great meeting other journalism researchers from all over the country. Plenty of inspriation for research projects in 2024.

On behalf of Deakin University and the Advancing Rural and Regional Culture and Society group, I presented a paper my colleague Professor Kristy Hess and I wrote titled "Everyone keeps telling us it's going to die: A close examination of 'myths' clouding local newspaper futures in Australia".

We hope to publish the paper in 2024.
