Report launched

More than 100 people attended the launch of the Recommendations Report produced by the research team involved in the ARC Linkage project Media Innovation and the Civic Future of Australia's Country Press.

The 80-page report was launched at Deakin Downtown in Melbourne, and was attended by industry and government representatives from across the country.

It was a privilege to work on this final report with Chief Investigator Kristy Hess and help bring together all the findings from the three-year project. The industry partner was Country Press Australia.

The report makes 22 recommendations for actions that could support local news in rural, regional, remote and suburban areas of Australia. The recommendations address issues such as government funding, recruiting journalists, collaborations, revenue streams and value measurements.
